Our workshops are focused on creatively engaging people in nature. Learning about our natural world helps us take better care of it. Through ecological education and making eco art, we connect our community to the land their food comes from, and have fun doing it!

Field Art Thursdays

Every Thursday from 4-7 pm during our farm stand at Good Care Farm (230 Davidson’s Side Rd), we invite our community to join us in our field to creatively engage with plants and nature. Each week has a suggested theme, and we provide basic art supplies and optional guidance on how to interact with the plants and tools.

All are welcome, and you can come with your own ideas and supplies if you’d like!

Field Art Thursdays are completely free to attend and child-friendly!

Upcoming themes include:

July 30: Pollinator party

We’ll be painting and drawing butterflies and bees, and incorporating printing with the plants they love!

August 6: Rock painting!

We often find rocks of all shapes and characters in our field, and need to remove them to make way for plants - come paint them with us!

August 13: Cucurbit crafts

Let’s explore and appreciate the funky shapes of cucurbit leaves! Plants we’re growing in this family include cucumbers, zucchini, squash and melons. Stamp ‘em, sketch ‘em or just come learn about them!

August 20: Nightshade night!

This Thursday we’ll focus on the nightshade family - for our field this includes tomatoes, eggplants, and peppers! Learn how to draw or paint each one, and be inspired by their beautiful colours!

Weekly themes are announced on our social media stories (Instagram & Facebook) @goodcarefarm
